Cantilever →The shock absorbers on this cantilever span could not absorb the shockwaves of such a powerful earthquake. The shockwaves snapped the cantilever off of its pier, causing a complete collapse.
Suspension →The shock absorbers could not absorb the shockwaves of this earthquake, and this span was terribly damaged. Despite the shear links, the shockwaves were so strong that they deformed the tower, and thus the deck too.
need to use Shear Links→ safe
Cable-stay need to use Ductile Material
if bigger earthquake ,it need to add Shock Absorbers
